Happy New Year, everyone! I'm finally back, it's been too long. A lot has changed since last 2013. I recently got my braces out (will blog outfits with my new and improved teeth), came back from my one week Christmas vacation in Manila and I've got tons of new outfit ensembles to share with you guys. And did I mention I joined another pageant again? Must have slip my mind.
I've had these outfit shots way back post-Halloween time. I just didn't have the time to post and edit them. I wore this to Church. Instead of the conservative-look churchgoers go for, I opted to take my new origami skort for a ride. This origami skort trend has been a favorite by many so why not go with the crowd. Enticing, is it not? I paired this skort with a pair of nude heels, neon green shirt and I'm good to go.

That awkward moment of crossing your legs just to get a book, not knowing you aren't supposed to take photos in the bookstore. Well evidently, I was one of the unfortunate ones; I only got to take one outfit shot. But it's a good outfit shot, I must say. Kudos, to my photographer! ;)

Quick post, to spare you some time to read my blog. Lol!
I went all vintage/modern kind of ensemble just to wear my brand new flats. So a nude Peter Pan-collared blouse tucked under a black highwaisted shorts should have done the trick.

My dearest 7.2 earthquake,

You have struck us once again...even stronger, I must say. You took the chance of practically destroying every bit of history Cebu and Bohol have to offer. Many lives have not been spared by your sudden eruption; may are scared by the continuous strong aftershocks happening. I, for one, am still startled by the aftermath of what you have done.

Nevertheless, our God is stronger than you. Our spirits and our faith are stronger than any quake of any magnitude. I believe that the Cebuanos and Boholanos will rise again from this tragedy. #BangonSugBohol (Rise Cebu and Bohol) has been the new trend of awareness, donations of relief goods have been offered by selfless souls and prayers have been immensely poured toward the victims. There has even been a new found "earth wall" sightseeing in Bohol that could possibly become another tourist spot. Anything is truly possible.

So you see 7.2 earthquake, no matter how strong you have shaken, you can't shake away our hope and faith in rebuilding again. We have our God watching over us, our fellowmen helping one another and we have that glimmer of hope and unity that Cebu and Bohol will get back on their feet.

Yours truly,
Shannen Tabanao

The break that I desperately need is here. Hello, sembreak!
Now I get to focus on my blog and take more outfit shots. Here's my long overdue outfit shot way back in September on my parents' anniversary sans dad.
Lace Crop Top from Fash Ion | Sheer Black Midi Skirt from Forever 21 | Turquoise Ring from WAGW

Their anniversary fell on a Sunday so Church was the first agenda to do. I picked out a classic colorblocking outfit of a white laced crop top and sheer black skirt to complement the top. I chose my favorite WAGW turquoise ring to add a pop of color to my outfit and finish it off with ribbon flats. I also tried to test out my makeup skills by putting on myself some Egyptian-inspired eyeliner makeup. What do you think? Needs more practice?

I'll be posting soon where my family and I ate for the anniversary.

Where could you possibly find music, dance, booze and meeting new friends all happen in just one place, in one unforgettable night? Oh and not to mention, it's a "Concert for Cause"? Well, the answer: Univercity 2013 at the SRP Grounds of Cebu. Now, as I promised to you all, here's 5 of the many happenings on what went down to the most awaited college festival of the year.

1. "Sound is half the picture." - bands and djs completed the event

It's never a party or a festival without the upbeat tempo of the drums or the climactic thump of a dj's mix. Undoubtedly, you wouldn't miss the 40-feet high stage that featured Cebu's best bands and djs. We've got bands from Drop Decay and The Ambassadors to djs Mister Mozo, Jom Gonzales and Republiq's very own Mars Miranda (which I had the privilege of meeting and picking him up from the airport, haha!). Sound was definitely the half of the festival's picture.

2. Pyroworks, confetti, stage light and all techy at its best

The very first thing I vividly see, since finishing my working hours, are the fireworks up in the sky. I was literally 3 feet away from the fireworks (if that's even possible), just looking up the whole time 'cause the pyroworks were spot on. The stage was MASSIVE, everything tech-related you can see on the stage. They even got the confettis blown out of nowhere to hype up the party. Talk about massive.

3. Brands, brands, brands everywhere

From Roxy to JanSport, from Islands Souvenir to Rhipstop, you name it. Univercity was the ultimate pit stop to go when it came to a festival of brands. There were games and trivias the people could play in exchange for awesome shoes, bags and what not.

4. The foods and the booze

You don't want to have hungry people for 11 hours without having anything in their stomachs. I wouldn't want to see that. So Univercity got everything from Braddex, Thirsty, Bananarific, Chillage, Chowking and Monster Energy, to name a few. And what's a party without the booze, without the drinks? Not Univercity. Haha!

5. We leave with old friends and new friends by our side

Univercity 2013 was all about bringing old friends to dance the night away and meeting new people from different schools at the same time. It was all about uniting as one, becoming each other's friends, something what college wouldn't offer. Beyond the College Exeprience. Univercity did all of that just for one night, that's what makes this the start of something new. A new tradition that would go a long way.

'Til next time.

What could possibly be a better way to end my college's University days/Intramurals Week than an after-party at the biggest college festival made here in Cebu City? Yes, I went to Univercity 2013 and yes, the title says it all, I lost my newly bought flowercrown. Such a malas! (bad luck in Filipino) But, I had such a blast at the festival. Pictures will be up on my next post.

I've always wanted to go to Coachella, and Univercity was the the nearest festival that I could go to and afford as well. Haha. So my outfit was inspired by the people of Coachella and the festival itself. I went for the infamous trend of the crop top. I bought this top 2 sizes larger than my size cause I wanted a sort of "bra slip" kind of feel. Haha! I wore my favorite booties to avoid my feet from all the muddiness of the place and added a touch of brightness with my flowercrown and bracelets. Unfortunately, I lost it when I was setting up a bunch of tarpaulins. *ugh
I was a hot mess during the festival. I had to work, pick up some people form different places, set up a bunch of tarps, and manage a ticket booth. No makeup was needed because I had no time to put 'em and I know that I would be sweating a lot. Haha.

Here's a glimpse of what went down on the biggest college festival in Cebu.

Sheer Blouse and Denim Pants from Forever 21, Yellow Sandals from Tutum Shop, Topshop bag

I was up early to attend Sunday mass since my sister was a Choir member and as her sister, she needed me and my mom's support. Haha! Imagine having to wake up 6 o'clock in the morning for a 7 o'clock mass and having to take a bath, groom yourself and choose an outfit, all in one hour. I honestly had to put this sheer blouse-denim pants ensemble in an instant without second guessing myself. But I think it's looks okay for a lazy Sunday outfit? (Right?) Haha.

On another note, Intramurals is over and alas, back to paper works and examinations yet again. I'll be posting some pictures of the opening day of my college's university on my next post. Till then, have a great week everyone!
